KJG was selected to assist the West Lafayette Community School Corporation in the planning, preparation, and coordination of several large building projects that will help the district support their growing community. KJG’s Architectural and Engineering Services for WLCSC included Feasibility Studies and Building Assessments and inventory and Master Planning in coordination with the WLCSC School Corporation. A New Intermediate School was selected as the first major design project. KJG Architecture, along with our consultant Schmidt Associates, designed the new Elementary school facility to replace the existing Happy Hollow Elementary and to house students in Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grades. KJG’s role throughout the project has been to assist in the preliminary design and planning, provide Structural Engineering and Interior Design services, and to assist in the bidding and construction administration of the project. The school is currently under construction, and KJG Architecture has aided and actively provided support in several community outreach meetings throughout the design and construction process. In collaboration with the surrounding neighborhood, comments gathered during the course of several meetings were able to be incorporated into the final design.
