KJG was selected to assist the West Lafayette Community School Corporation in the planning, preparation, and coordination of several large building projects to help the district support their growing community. Over the course of several years and multiple phases, KJG designed new additions to the West Lafayette Junior/Senior High School to provide additional classrooms and learning spaces to support the current student capacity. Phases for the new expansions included the Richard Wachs Aquatic Center addition to support the hosting of future swimming and diving competitions; the James Guy Education Wing to support the addition of updated media center, learning environments, science labs, and classrooms; the Bob Kelly Center for Performing Arts, which received sound, lighting, and upgrades to public accessibility that will provide additional performance and learning opportunities for students and visitors. KJG led the architectural, structural, and interior design for the expansions and renovations in addition to working with Schmidt Associates on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing design.
