Frankfort, IN

2023

The City of Frankfort carefully planned for a new Police Station for nearly a decade as multiple sites were studied to find the perfect location for a new 23,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. The new Police Station will along State Road 28 on the west side of the downtown area as a new gateway into the City. Traditional materials like limestone and masonry were combined with modern aluminum composite panels and a sleek ribbon of glass. A 60-person multi-purpose training space dominates the front elevation and will be used as a training center for other departments throughout Indiana to utilize. The high-volume lobby space is both beautiful and welcoming, done intentionally to communicate the partnership the Police seek with the Frankfort community. Beyond the public portions of the facility, the internal functions of the department are all connected along a central spine. The corridor leads to administrative offices, interview rooms, a fitness facility, crime lab, break area, and a multi-bay garage area for maintenance and evidence storage.
