Central Presbyterian Church resides in a beautiful historic structure on the east side of Lafayette’s downtown district. As is often the case with historic buildings, architecture and accessibility were in conflict. So KJG worked with the congregation to develop a master plan of improving accessibility in and around the facility as well as updating interior finishes. The project was ultimately delivered in three separate phases to coincide with fundraising efforts. In the end, Central Presbyterian now has a fully accessible entrance on the west side of the building, accessible restrooms, and new interior finishes which blend seamlessly with the traditional architectural elements to make a remarkable building that continue to stand the test of time.
